Join us to hear from our visiting speaker Sally Tomlinson, a distinguished and influential academic and activist. Sally has recently published her new book, A Sociology of Special and Inclusive Education: Exploring the Manufacture of Inability. The book brings sociological perspectives to bear on the social, political, and economic policies and practices that comprise special and inclusive education, and the education of lower attainers. Despite a plethora of literature on special and inclusive education worldwide, governments are still unsure of the reasons for this sector’s expansion in their national education systems.

Sally will be talking to us about her work and her analysis of recent developments in education, following which there will an opportunity for Q&A and general discussion.
