His popular science books - Alex's Adventures in Numberland and Alex Through the Looking-Glass - have been translated into more than 20 languages. He writes a maths blog for the Guardian and frequently speaks on maths at conferences, festivals, in schools and in companies.
He is also the author of Futebol: the Brazilian Way of Life, a look at contemporary Brazil through football, and he co-wrote Pelé's autobiography.
