Dr Devorah Baum
Lecturer in English, University of Southampton
Devorah Baum joined Southampton as a Lecturer in September 2007 and is also attached to the Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish/non Jewish Relations.
She undertook her doctoral research at King's College, University of London, and has previously taught both at King's College, University of London and at the London School of Jewish Studies.
Her research interests include the return of religion, the influence of religion on contemporary literature and philosophy, the relationship between religion and violence and between religion and psychoanalysis, and Jewish literature and philosophy; as well as more generally hermeneutics, critical theory, Jacques Derrida, psychoanalysis, and post-war American literature.
