Haidee Bell
Head of Design Programmes, Design Council
As Head of Design Programmes at the Design Council, Haidee supports the organisation’s Design Challenges work which explores how design and behavioural research can create new solutions for the UK’s big issues. Current projects include the Knee High Design Challenge to improve the lives of children under 5 and Design for Care, a major programme to improve the quality of care. She also leads the Design Council Spark accelerator programme to take physical product ideas to market.
Before joining the Design Council, Haidee worked for 6 years at Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation, to support creative businesses to grow and to use creative approaches to innovate in industry and public services. This included Code for Europe which introduced digital and design skills to civic challenges and Rethinking Parks which explored new models for running the UK’s public parks.
