James Kempton
Chair, Oldham Opportunity Area
James Kempton has been chair of Oldham Opportunity Area, one of 12 local interventions across England to drive social mobility, since 2017. He also chairs Oldham’s school improvement body, Oldham Learning. James is a former Chair of Ofsted and former Council Leader in Islington. He also chairs the anti-poverty charity the Cripplegate Foundation and is a trustee of the youth theatre, Company Three.
