The world is rapidly changing – we need a paradigm shift within education to enable a dynamic, innovative education system fit for 21st century challenges. Our upcoming report explores how school systems across the globe can create the conditions for successful innovation that transform outcomes for all learners.
To move further, faster, we believe that school systems should create intentional platforms for innovation that are future-focused, equity-centered, and teacher-powered. The aim must be to return teachers to the front and centre of the innovation process, but within a context that challenges both systems and teachers to grasp how public education must change to enable learners and institutions to thrive in the new conditions which confront them.

It would be great to know the status of this and how to get involved. I am currently advising 'Teach the Future Europe' in the Netherlands who are building on the work of Teach the Future in the US (see http://www.teachthefuture.org ) to develop a library of teaching resources (lessons, activities etc) and equip teachers to embed into their existing teaching materials and curricula. The aim is to expose students to their many possible futures and equip them to play an active role in defining their future, rather than being observers, or worse victims. I think there could be some synergies between your project and both the US and European TtF projects. I look forward to hearing more! Brendan.

Hi Peter,
Thank you for this - I agree it is refreshing to read that the RSA is trying to get to grips with teacher training and innovation, entrepreneurship in the classrooms etc. I find that prospective ways forward are very context dependent - especially trying them out here in SE Asia, and in Eastern Europe, South Asia. Are you in the UK ? in Scotland, in the city, rural ? what contexts can you share ?
As for myself, I have been mostly in universities and teacher training and online tutor training, and currently in real primary schools hopefully inspiring teachers to adopt some digital ideas, producing OER ...
for example see (freely) http://cemca.org.in/ckfinder/userfiles/files/OERQ_TIPS_978-81-88770-07-6.pdf
It is one way forward. I'd welcome hearing more of your ideas -
many thanks again

I am beginning to fall in love again with the RSA which is adopting systems thinking so much more. having set the scene above, perhaps I could contribute and tell you what exactly is needed and why and how. It costs nothing...up to you of course!
