I mostly consume to learn & entertain myself with generally a 70/30 ratio. If I have the opportunity to illegally get a media item (movie, music, game, etc) I will get it. Once I have consumed it, If I am compelled in any way by it, I will gladly choose to pay for it. I think the reason behind this is some sort of empathy. I have bought many documentaries & music albums after having consumed them. In most cases I have chosen to give these purchases to people around me who I think will also feel compelled by them as I was.
I feel perfectly ethically and morally comfortable with my way of consuming media & I am very much looking forward to seeing business practices change and wake up to new realities like Matt Mason has.
