Every day the UK food retail industry sends 1.6million tonnes of surplus food to landfill, which contributes to the increase in greenhouse gases. At the same time there are four million people in the UK who are living below the breadline.
Plan Zheroes' aim is to close this unnecessary gap by mapping businesses with excess food, and connecting them with organisations able to receive and convert it into meals for citizens on low income. Currently, Plan Zheroes has a team of 5 regular contributors, and is launching the new Platform developed by Keytree, entirely pro-bono with the value of £250K, which is a bespoke, mobile responsive and accessible from phones, tablets and laptops.

Hi Maria
A subject very close to my heart! I'm in Wiltshire with 26 years catering & Food Standards Agency experience and I would be very interested in hearing more about this project. Please let me know how I can get involved,

Hi Maria,
I just came across this, so thought I'd say hello on the forum since we've already met in reality as well. Looking forward to seeing Plan Zheroes again tomorrow night at the Sustainable Hackney AGM.
All the best,

Hello Maria,
I absolutely love this project. I have personally thought a lot about this issue and would love to get involved somehow? I am based in London and have some experience with social media and community engagement, as well as being interested in getting some fundraising experience.
Kind regards,
