James is our Evaluation Lead
James holds responsibility for the evaluation of all the Society's programmes. He arrived in September 2022 from the Department for Work & Pensions newly formed in-house research unit, which provides rapid-response data to Ministers and senior civil servants. Before that he was part of the research team at Good Things Foundation, the UK's leading digital and social inclusion charity, where among things he authored I Am Connected, a major study of older adults' digital behaviour. A qualitivist by training and inclination, he's particularly interested in realist evaluation, service design, participatory action research, and generally in using data to get things done.
