Apropos of Matthew's post on brains and behaviour:

Michael Tomasky’s NYRB review of Drew Westen’s The Political Brain is the best place to start on the conjunction of neuroscience and politics. Westen’s book is long, but his YouTube tutorial is short, as are these Guardian extracts.

Neuromarketing and Futurelab blogs have been chronicling attempts to mix neuroscience and politics for a while. And interesting stuff - like this piece on moral emotions and the Iraq war - occasionally pops up in the journal of Political Psychology.

But beware the bad fMRI. New York Times Op-Ed This Is Your Brain On Politics was slated in Nature and across the blogosphere. And, as always, the guys at the Battle of Ideas are angry…
