Britain’s youth are tired of being talked about instead of talked to. It’s time to hear their stories, their voices.
One in four people under twenty-five in the UK will be affected by mental illness. Over half of people under twenty-five have looked for advice on homelessness. University fees are rising, job opportunities are drying up, and buying a house is out of reach for all but a privileged few.
And yet the voices of this generation - their views, their struggles, their hopes - are noticeably absent from mainstream media.
Rife: Twenty-One Stories from Britain's Youth is a powerful new essay collection from writers under the age of twenty-four, offering essential insights into issues facing young people across the UK, from health to housing, education to equality.
Join us at the RSA as Rife essayists are joined by editor Nikesh Shukla for bracing, honest, hopeful conversation about what it really means to be young in Britain today.
