Join us to explore how RSA Fellows are using the Heritage Index to inspire change in their communities in this third and final event of RSA Global's online series.
The Heritage Index is a benchmarking tool that identifies the variety and number of heritage assets and the levels of local engagement with those assets. Organisations and RSA Fellows have used the Index as an advocacy tool, helping communities learn and make better informed decisions, as a source of evidence to support community engagement and participation programmes, and to enrich local debate.
The Index was developed following a two year, Heritage Lottery-funded RSA research project, to understand how best to strengthen links between heritage, community, and identity. Fellows are now leading a network that brings together people involved at all levels of the heritage sector. The network aspires to work with Fellows and organisations in other countries, learning from different insights, practices, and approaches—it will launch formally in January 2018, so do keep an eye on your inbox for further details.
This online event is an opportunity to find out more about the Index, explore case-studies, and discover how you might engage with and help shape the network.
Our speakers will include Isilda Almeida-Harvey, RSA Heritage Network lead; and Michael Jansen, who will provide an international case study from Monschau, one of the closest German towns to the South of England, which has a rich but underutilised heritage, and others.
