RSA Durham: Crime Walk

Fellowship events

We offer an invitation for 15 Fellows to join us in Durham City as we explore and challenge what we know about crime. We begin our journey with our first event, setting the historical context of crime in Durham.

Join Fellowship Councillor Pauline Moger FRSA on a walk through the city, exploring what has grown to become known as the 'Crime Walk’. The walk evolved from the Ghosts of Our Future project. Pauline will conduct Fellows around the city, exploring the kaleidoscope of changing attitudes to crime and punishment uncovered through the project. The walk will culminate indoors, partaking of light refreshments to ease the mind and body.

To ensure group safety, numbers are limited to 15. Please register a free ticket in advance for further details.

Please note, this event will primarily take place outdoors, including navigating steps (despite potentially adverse weather conditions), and participants will be walking or standing for most of the duration.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: [email protected]. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

If our topic captures your imagination but you cannot make this event, there will be a second RSA Durham Network event taking place a week later at the fully accessible Gala Theatre Studio. On Thursday 3 May, Professor Tanya Wyatt FRSA will be giving an insightful talk entitled 'Crimes of the Powerful', followed by a Q&A. Follow the link for more information on this event.

Location: Meeting Point – Durham Market Place adjacent to DLI Soldier Statue.
