Our guest speaker this month is Michelle Lord, Arts Development Officer at Cambridge City Council. She’ll be sharing news of the newly-piloted Cambridgeshire Culture Card, which aims to increase cultural engagement by children and young people from low-income or disadvantaged backgrounds.

The project will also plug gaps in knowledge around the impact of cultural engagement on education and skills. We’ll consider how we might support the roll-out of this initiative to 15 schools across Cambridgeshire in 2019. This conversation builds on our ambitions to address inequalities in education in and around Cambridge (see blog), and links to the RSA Cities of Learning initiative.

We will also dedicate time to thinking more deeply about how we might advance the Buurtzorg model (“Humanity above Bureaucracy”) of patient-centred neighbourhood care shared by local nurses Sophie Howson and Kathryn Caley at the last meeting, and learn more about the RSA’s current interest in this activity.

As always, our meetups are free to attend and open to Fellows, friends, and colleagues interested in supporting the work of the RSA. Refreshments will be available.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: [email protected]. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

Location: University of Cambridge Postdoc Centre (Sanders Hall), 105 Eddington Place, Cambridge, CB3 1AS
