RSA Warwickshire: Creating Low-Carbon Communities

Fellowship events

Village Hall, Napton on the Hill

Climate and ecological crises are in the news, sparking ‘Schools4Climate’ strikes, ‘Extinction Rebellion’ protests and lots of activity around air quality, disposable plastics and pollution of the seas.

The scale of the challenges is now so great that, despite action over the years by many people in many ways, higher levels of involvement to tackle the issues are needed. We need to convince our communities, friends, families and others to get serious and meet the new realities.

Are you ready to get active? This event is designed to connect communities to share ideas and deliver solutions.

We will hear about:

  •  a new funding stream for rural community energy projects from the West Midlands Regional Energy Hub
  •  an overview of the progress of solar PV in the UK and the current economics of installation post-subsidy
  • details of a funding bid for ecological projects from Garden Organic

Key speakers include:

  • George Martin (Chair) - Director, UK Building Performance Network and Chair of the Sustainable Development Foundation
  • Steve Thomson - Operations Director, Garden Organic and 'Wilder for Wellbeing' project
  • Tbc - West Midland Regional Energy Hub
  • Angus Rose - Inenco Energy - Solar PV provider specialising in schools and businesses

We will also explore together the idea of developing a local Low-Carbon Support Hub. How could it help you and your community?

The event is free to attend and open to everyone interested in delivering low-carbon solutions for local communities.

Tea, coffee and cake will be available. If you want to stay on and continue the conversation there are two good pubs nearby (The Folly/The Kings Head) and a great café.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments, please let the team know: [email protected]. Please also let us know if you have any dietary requirements or severe allergies.

Location: Village Hall, The Crescent, Napton on the Hill, Warwickshire, CV47 8LS (between Southam and Daventry off the A425)
