In 2023 when Wiltshire Creative launches a new participatory version of The Tempest – “a stunning re-imagining of Shakespeare’s fabulous tale, as we journey deep into one of Salisbury’s most beloved parks” – RSA Salisbury will use its March meeting to explore the role of public participation in the arts.
Speaking with local practitioners and programme leads, we will explore: identifying how and where participation takes place; sharing best practice; raising the status of leaders and facilitators of participation in the arts; starting to develop a strong coalition and a joined-up approach to participation; and acknowledging the need for the sector to play an active role in the development of future policies.
Speakers include local potter and workshop leader Julie Ayton; Lesley Self from ArtCare; and Rebecca Seymour from Celebrating Age Wiltshire, alongside staff from Wiltshire Creative. The Panel and the Q&A session will be chaired by James Gough FRSA.
As usual, we will start with informal networking and refreshments from 6.30pm-7pm. Please come along to meet other local Fellows and guests and to join the discussion.
If you find later that you are unable to attend for any reason, please inform Neil Beagrie ([email protected]) so that we can offer your place to someone else.
Taking part in RSA in-person events
To participate in the event, you will need to register for a ticket so we can make sure we have an up-to-date list of those who plan on attending. This is for capacity purposes.
We encourage all attendees that are sick or showing symptoms of illness to stay home and to cancel your Eventbrite ticket if you are no longer able to join the event.
