Join RSA US on Thursday 20 April for an informal evening with leading artists, economists, designers, community development advocates, business leaders, educators, nonprofit leaders, activists, and others to reimagine the future of Philadelphia, together.
The Philadelphia Research and Policy Initiative's annual “State of the City” report sheds light on Philadelphia’s residents and neighborhoods and the condition of the city more generally. From demographic trends to income, housing, the economy, public safety, arts and culture, education, and government, the “State of the City” is an essential source for all who care about Philadelphia’s future. Together, we’ll explore collaborative action to support and invest in the well-being of all residents.
Michael O’Bryan, regional ambassador for the RSA in Philadelphia, will be hosting an informal conversation on how we can reimagine a better future for Philadelphia covering everything from economic mobility, to placemaking, to how data can inform public policy initiatives. We hope you can join us for this interactive, and important, conversation.
Some of the questions we’ll explore:
• What is the data telling us? What are we missing?
• What is shaping the dominant narrative of the city?
• What unique capabilities does Philadelphia have to meet its challenges?
• Where is there potential and energy to adapt and evolve?
• What is regenerative placemaking and how can we (re)ignite residents’ relationship to the city?
• What are the levers of economic mobility in Philadelphia?
• What are the priorities for further collaboration and investment?
This event is open to all for Philadelphia-based Fellows and other Fellows who may be in town.
