Please join us for this exciting joint event with the RSA and the Scottish Arts Club.
All are welcome at this event, which is a collaboration between the RSA and the Scottish Arts Club. The event will include a private viewing of the Scottish Portrait Award exhibition at the club. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the RSA, the Scottish Arts Club and the Scottish Arts Trust. Vanessa Roeves, a highly qualified Arts executive, and Sarah McBean author, dancer and Director of the Trust will delight you with describing the extensive lively work of the Trust and recent partnership with Perth theatre. Please see below for some more information on the work of both the club and the trust.
The Scottish Arts Club is an informal social club tucked away in Rutland Square. The membership comprises those professionally involved in the arts and many others from all walks of life who share a love of the arts. Exhibition space is spread over three floors in a its fine Georgian House. A wide range of educational talks, musical and entertaining events are held regularly.
The Scottish Arts Trust is the charitable arm of the club. Its focus is to reach out to support innovation and creativity in the arts in Scotland and beyond through voluntary action. You will hear about the competitions the Trust runs in arts and literature. This year for the first time, a Scottish Landscape Award competition has taken place. Look out for the resulting exhibition of Scottish talent taking place in the City Art Centre from November until March. A recent partnership with Perth theatre and Concert Hall staged a fund-raising literary lunch featuring a conversation with Alan Cumming and Louise Welsh. More of these to follow
