Fellows Festival FAQs 2023

Thank you for your interest in the RSA Fellows Festival 2023. Answers to our most frequently asked questions can be found below, if you can't find the answer you're looking for please do get in touch with our team and we'll be happy to help.

What is the RSA Fellows Festival?

The aim of the Festival is to inspire and create a spirit of collaboration towards our shared purpose, allowing us to learn from each other, share ideas, and have fun in the process. The events will incorporate inspirational speakers, challenging ideas and practical considerations for our community of changemakers.

Where is the Festival taking place?

The Festival will include a day of activities held across RSA House on 17 June 2023, with many of the highlights of the day available as livestreamed sessions to attend online. There will also be some regional, national and global events in the days around 17 June, providing further opportunity for Fellows to connect and share ideas.

When will the event in RSA House be held?

The event at RSA House will be held on Saturday 17 June 2023 between 11am and 7.30pm BST approx.

Doors will open at 11am with the agenda running from 12pm – 6pm, followed by optional drinks until 7.30pm.

Where do I register?

Please secure your ticket via this Eventbrite page. Select ‘In-person ticket’ to attend at RSA House, or ‘Online ticket’ to receive details of the livestream for the day. Details and registration for our satellite regional, national and global events will become available closer to the time.

Who is speaking?

We have a number of exciting speakers and thought leaders joining us on the day. We will be announcing these on an ongoing basis ahead of the event.

How much is it? How do I pay for the registration?

The Festival is free to attend. It is an opportunity for others to connect with the work we carry out as a community, so please invite your family, friends and colleagues who might also be interested.

What if I have accessibility considerations?

We want the event to be welcoming to all. It will be an informal atmosphere where you're welcome to come and go from the sessions. There will be a prayer room available to use on the day, and access to designated quiet space for any attendees who may feel they need it during the Festival.

If you have any access requirements or require any reasonable adjustments to support your participation, please let the team know by emailing: [email protected].

Will there be photography and video recording taking place?

Please note that we plan to have a photographer and videographer capturing the event and the livestream may be recorded, for learning purposes, publicity and/or public viewing. By booking to attend, we will assume your consent to this. In-person attendees may inform staff at the welcome desk that they do not wish to be included in content from our photographer and videographer, but please note that inclusion in our livestream may be unavoidable.

What is the exact location for the event on 17 June?

Our address is:

8 John Adam Street
London
WC2N 6EZ

What are the parking arrangements and directions from public transport?

You can find transport links and map location on our website. We are a short 10 minute walk from a number of Central London train and tube stations.

A Blue Badge parking bay is available on John Adam Street opposite the entrance to the House, but we cannot guarantee its availability on the day. Two-hour parking meters are located in John Adam Street opposite the entrance to the House. Blue Badge holders are entitled to park at a meter/pay-and-display bay for an extra hour once the paid time has expired.

We do not have dedicated bicycle parking but there are public bike racks nearby including at the local transport hubs.

Can my friends, partner and/or children attend?

Yes. You’ll need to register them each with a ticket. This will be an informal event - you can come and go, and children are welcome - but please be aware that most of our events are aimed at an adult audience. Children must be supervised at all times. There are no specific activities for younger children so please bear that in mind and pack your crayons.

Can I attend on my own?

Yes, many Fellows come alone to events, it’s never a problem and you will be welcomed warmly.

Do I need to be a Fellow to attend?

No, you do not need to be a Fellow to attend. However, we would encourage you to join. You will be able to sign up as a Fellow with our Fellowship team on the day.

Can I register at the venue on the day?

Registration will close a couple of weeks before the event and we will not be accepting registrations on the day as we expect there will be a significant waiting list for allocated tickets.

I booked a ticket but can no longer attend – can I cancel my registration?

There is limited capacity and there is a waiting list, so please do cancel if you cannot attend. Instructions for this can be found on the confirmation email you will have received from Eventbrite, the ticketing system used by the RSA.

We will be asking all people who have registered to cancel their tickets if they are unable to attend, right up until a few days before the event.

What happens if the event is cancelled?

If the event needs to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, we will give as much notice as possible and subsequently offer ticketholders first refusal of tickets for the Festival when it is rearranged.

Is there room to leave bags?

We will be offering a cloakroom for you to leave coats and/or small bags. There is limited space so do consider other attendees and please do not bring large suitcases or other bulky items.

What is the dress code?

There is no dress code.

Can I arrive early?

Doors will open from 11am for a 12pm start.

Will there be refreshments at the event?

We are offering a refreshment package which includes a hot lunch, tea and coffee throughout the day for just £15. You can pre-book your refreshment package here. In the evening you will be invited to purchase drinks in the RSA House Vaults.

How do I let you know about my special dietary requirements?

You will be asked to provide this information on registration for the event.

Can I bring my own food to the event?

No, unless it’s for young babies.

If I have additional questions, who can I contact?
