Education inquiry in Suffolk

The RSA is an increasingly influential voice in national debates about education, from the example of our family of Academies to our recent (and successful) intervention in the debate over school standards. 

In July 2012, the RSA was invited by Suffolk County Council to conduct an independent Inquiry into how to achieve a significant and sustained improvement in pupil attainment and improved capabilities for young people in the world of work. The final report setting out our findings was published on 24 May 2013.

Our goal has been to contribute to a fundamental change in the way that education is discussed, perceived and delivered across the county, and we’ve worked closely with RSA Fellows in Suffolk and beyond to do this. The Shout Out Suffolk initiative, led by Fellows Suzanna Pickering and Emma Bond, helped to ensure young peoples’ voices were represented, and many Fellows also contributed to the Call for Ideas.
