I am delighted that RSA is significantly increasing its presence beyond the UK. My main question is about strategy and its consequences. In the last 12 months RSA has appointed a Director, Global and steps are in hand to to strengthen the relationship between RSA in the UK and in the USA. The Board of Trustees has nominated a Fellow resident in the US to clarify governance and we look forward to learning more. We hope to be invited to provide input and not be faced with a fait accompli.
Elsewhere, RSA appears to have thin representation, mainly following the British Commonwealth. Yet RSA runs the risk of becoming spread too thin. In recent months, it has been invited to speak in Chile, Paris, Abu Dhabi, The Netherlands and Finland. Go with the flow or learn when to say no?
What budget is allocated to travel? Where are the greatest opportunities? What is the measure by which to evaluate such questions? What are the views of our existing Fellowship?
