London FRSA is speaking at an event at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, exploring the concept of race alongside a panel of other academics, artists and sociologists.
Performing Race is an event bringing together a panel of artists and sociologists that represent racial counter-narratives in response to the ideas of W.E.B. Du Bois of race as a social construction, to explore the nuanced threads of racial discourse and social interaction to re-conceptualise race as social performance.
One of the panelists will be Dr Shona Hunter FRSA, Reader in Institutional Whiteness in the Centre for Race, Education, and Decoloniality at Leeds Beckett University and the event will be chaired by Nazir Afzal OBE. The panel will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
