In 2016 RICS published an information paper on ‘Placemaking and value’ which sought to look at the link between creating great places and financial value. The work was based on five case studies located within one hour commute from London. They would now like to test the findings of this research at different locations around the UK with local partners and so are doing a number of afternoon roadshows during Spring 2017.

16 February 2017 - Cardiff: Welsh School of Architecture, Bute Building, King Edward VII Ave, Cardiff CF10 3NB Time 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

The afternoon is typically divided into three sessions. Session 1 presents the findings of the research.

Session 2 provides an opportunity to review the applicability of the findings to a local large-scale development.

Relying on local participants Session 3 looks at the potential for collaboration between diverse interests in creating great places. The intention is to capture the views from each location in order to pick up regional variations in how market signals can be used to deliver quality places.

We would like to invite a cross section of participants engaged either professionally, as developers, as community members or local representatives in creating places, to participate in this workshop.
