Jonathan Flowers is a Fellow and the Chair of Trustees at In2scienceUK, a national charity working to help young people from disadvantaged backgrounds enter careers in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) - all areas where there are known issues of under-representation.
In order to do their work, they rely on volunteers and this is where you and other Fellows can help. In2scienceUK is looking for individuals who can host a week-long in-person placement for 1-3 students in July/August 2022. These young people will be aged 16-19 and will have expressed an interest in your field.
Any individual working in STEM is eligible, including (but not limited to) researchers, scientists, engineers, and data specialists. Their definition of STEM also includes healthcare, economics, accounting, and data. Volunteers are given full training and support, meaning giving young people this experience has never been easier.
You can find out more on their website or by emailing [email protected]. Apply here by 22 April. You can also help further by sharing this with your professional network.
