Innovation in Democracy

Helping towns decide their own future.

This project supported three local authorities to hold citizens' assemblies about the future of their local area.

Dudley and Test Valley chose to focus their assemblies on the future of town centres. In Cambridge, citizens discussed traffic congestion, public transport and air quality.

How to run a citizens’ assembly

We reflect on the citizens' assemblies we have run and existing advice to provide a practical guide on how to run your own citizens' assembly. Includes real-world examples and personal stories.
