Vaults

RSA House Vaults

Beneath the grand and traditional event spaces of RSA House lies something rather extraordinary. The subterranean Vaults boast four interconnecting event spaces, featuring exposed 18th-century brickwork throughout.

This iconic London venue suits just about any event, playing host to product launches, fashion shows, parties, press days, exhibitions, TV and film shoots, and weddings. This space has welcomed many well-known brands, including Yves Saint Laurent, Molton Brown and Penguin Books.

About hiring this space

The Vaults are hired exclusively with their own private entrance leading directly from the Strand, a private cloakroom and bathrooms. It is an ideal location for a self-contained event, separate from the rest of the House.

The space can be transformed to suit whatever the occasion or left alone can provide enough of a ‘wow’ factor if there is no theme. Vault 1 is often hired as the catering space for meetings in the Durham Street Auditorium, or on its own for smaller drinks receptions.

Audio-visual inclusions

The Vaults feature a built-in sound system throughout, ideal for background music during drinks receptions. The venue’s up-lighters, when positioned around each of the Vaults, add a dramatic look and can transform the atmosphere of any event. Additional audio-visual equipment can be arranged through our team.

Did you know?

The Vaults were originally designed as warehouse storage and used to lead directly onto the Thames. For years the Vaults were used as wine cellars. Wine was brought up the river in casks and bottled in adjoining cellars before being laid down in the Vaults.
