Sean Leads an expanding portfolio of U.S. initiatives focused on economic security, inclusive growth and social infrastructure that enhances community well-being and supports a more resilient, just, equitable, and sustainable world.
In addition to his role at the RSA, Sean co-directs the Stanford Basic Income Lab, which undertakes research and convenes stakeholders around the politics, philosophy, economics and implementation of Universal Basic Income. Sean brings more than two decades of public, private and nonprofit experience researching, designing, scaling and advocating for financial innovations that strengthen economic security and inclusion. He is former Director of the San Francisco Office of Financial Empowerment, where he was a leading voice for municipal government innovation. Prior to this, he was the architect of Reach Global, a first-of-its-kind social franchise that delivered health, livelihood and family finance education with financial services to more than two million women and adolescent girls across South Asia, Africa and Latin America. He was also founding CEO of Prizma, a social enterprise that began as a small project of an international refugee organization in post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina to become one of the largest microfinance institutions in Central & Eastern Europe and among the 50 strongest globally.
