Leyton Sixth Form College meets Abbas Nasir

Karachi born Abbas Nasir worked as senior journalist for the BBC and in Pakistan. Leyton 6th form students ask him tough questions about Pakistan today.

Having worked as a senior journalist for the BCC, as well as in Pakistan, Abbas Nasir discusses how working in the media differs between the countries, while touching on how new technologies and social media has changed Pakistan. He describes how sectarian violence has hurt Pakistan and his concerns about a lack of tolerance towards both minorities and violence against women. Abbas Nasir describes how impressed he is with the courage of Malala Yousafzai and his concerns about what her story says about where Pakistan is heading today. He finally he sums up Pakistan in four words!
