The archaeological heritage of the ancient capital of Sindh, Mansurah from 700 AD, its Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim history
Mansura was the first Sindhi Muslim capital from the year 711.AD to 1006.AD, the city was founded by the Umayyad Forces in Sindh and transformed into a vibrant metropolis during the Abbasid Era. Archaeology, heritage and history are much contested, sensitive issues in Pakistan. Pakistan has many significant heritage sites with not only Muslim, but Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh traditions. This film presents a very powerful discussion on the importance of preserving Pakistan’s heritage by some of Pakistan’s leading academics and practitioners in the field, as well as the history surrounding Mansurah.
