RSA Safeguarding statement

Responsibility for safeguarding lies with all staff with the ultimate responsibility sitting with the RSA’s Board of Trustees.

The RSA has a moral and legal obligation to create a safe place for all the children, young people and vulnerable adults who visit RSA House or engage in activities commissioned or otherwise provided by the RSA.

In particular, the RSA is committed to promoting an inclusive and supportive environment for all children, young people and vulnerable adults with whom they engage.

The RSA fulfils its safeguarding commitment by:

  • Having a robust Safeguarding Policy and practices in place which are reviewed on an annual basis.
  • Bringing the Safeguarding Policy and practices to the attention of all staff.
  • Identifying and managing risks to staff and people who use the RSA’s services.
  • Carrying out relevant checks prior to appointments, including references and DBS checks.
  • Protecting our staff and volunteers, including having clear policies on bullying and harassment and whistleblowing.
  • Having a robust process in place for reporting and managing incidents and allegations of abuse appropriately.

The RSA’s Safeguarding Policy is available, on request, by contacting [email protected].
