A recent experience working with teachers trying to meet an obscure curriculum requirement gives the starting point for discussion of schooling that has lost its way. Rather than throwing up our hands in despair, we need better alternatives. Join us as we explore a couple of ideas common to public schooling in Northern Europe — Bildung and Didaktik — that give us tools to think differently and ensure that learning builds on teacher and student ownership.

The Future of Learning Network needs fall program ideas!
If you have an idea for an online salon you’d like to lead, please send your idea to Bob Coulter and Gregor Thurswaldner. Be sure to include a catchy title and a 2-3 sentence description that will entice people to join the discussion.

The Future of Learning Network is a virtual network supported by the RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts Manufactures, and Commerce) US.
