Ruby Wax explains how and why our busy, self-critical thoughts drive us to anxiety and depression, and provides ways of taming our out-of-control minds.

One in four people will experience mental health problems at some point in their lives, and the NHS spends more tackling the problem than cardiovascular disease and cancer combined. The World Health Organisation estimates that by 2030, depression will be the leading cause of the global burden of disease. There is absolutely no doubt that mental ill health will happen either to us, or someone we love – so why on earth are we still so afraid to open up and talk about it?

Ruby Wax - comedian, writer and mental health campaigner, visits the RSA to explain how our busy minds drive us to anxiety and depression, and to show us practical ways to achieve peace in a turbulent world.

Alastair Campbell - writer, communicator and strategist best known for his role as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's spokesman, press secretary and director of communications and strategy.
