To kick-start the Great Recovery project which launched this week, we will be running a series of hands-on workshops at centres around the UK where designers, material scientists, manufacturers and others can come face-to-face with the challenges around material recovery and design for disassembly.
There will be approximately 10 workshops, taking place on sites around the UK that either deal with the recovery of materials, are looking at repair and recycling, are an innovation centre or are exploring the redesign of a specific product for a closed loop system.
The first four dates and locations are detailed below:
-
Wednesday 9/10 Oct 2012 – Sweeep – Sittingbourne
-
Tuesday 15/16 Oct 2012 – The Cliff Training Ground – Salford
-
Friday 25/26 Oct 2012 – Geevor Tin Mine – Cornwall
-
Wednesday 30/31 Oct 2012 – Closed Loop – Dagenham
Each workshop consists of an evening informal meeting in a nearby pub followed by a full day's workshop on-site.
There are 30 places, and you can sign up via the website for one of the workshops listed above or to be informed of future workshops.
