Chandran Nair FRSA, CEO of Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT), would like to invite RSA Fellows to submit their photographs for an exciting new project - ‘The Other Hundred Educators’
The Other Hundred is a unique not-for-profit photo-book initiated by GIFT. Its purpose is to provide a counterpoint to the mainstream media; the Forbes 100, Bloomberg billionaires list and the countless other rich lists that are constantly making headlines. The Other Hundred Educators, is the next stage of this venture.
They are looking for images of unconventional educators from all walks of life. It doesn’t matter if they don’t teach in a classroom, have no formal qualifications or pass on knowledge by example. There are many ways of teaching, and capturing them is what the competition is about.
The open-call for submissions is running now until February 15th 2016. Each entry must be accompanied by 250-500 words that tells the story behind its subject(s) – who they are, how they are imparting knowledge and experience, and the impact they have on others.
Submissions may be a single photograph or a series of up to 10 photographs. All submissions are free.
Winners: The jury will select 100 winners from the submissions, all of whom will receive a complimentary copy of the book. The top three winners who submit projects embodying the theme and inspiring the jury will also receive the following prizes:
1st Place (1 photographer): US$5,000
2nd Place (1 photographer): US$2,000
3rd Place (1 photographer): US$1,000
All other winners will receive US$300
